DEVELOPMENT OF NEW NUCLEAR POWER PLANTs

EPDOR's experts have worked on key nuclear newly built and refurbishment projects over the past 10 years. The most important projects were in the area of instrumentation & control system refurbishment, nuclear power plant utilization of project reserves, and work on newly built nuclear power plant development.

Through its expert base, EPDOR was able to accumulate solid understanding of the commercial and technical development of the nuclear sector in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. While Mochovce nuclear power plant completion is currently the largest project in the region, there are other newly built projects under preparation. Given the track record of delays and budget overruns, the new investors face enormous challenges to avoid the project pitfalls.

Apart from the safety aspect of the newly built nuclear power plant, which is by far the most important factor, the project must have all the attributes of complex project team including nuclear licensing, zoning and permitting process, engineering, procurement, quality management and assurance, risk management and controlling, and many others whichall need to be included in the project management equation.
